Bio:
Will Pappenheimer received his MFA from Museum School/Tufts University, Boston (1997) and BA from Harvard (1978). He received an National Endowment for the Arts Artists Fellowship in 1990.
His work in video, mixed media, installation and new media has been exhibited in over 50 solo and group exhibitions. He has shown at the The ICA (Boston), the Stedman Art Gallery (NJ), Exit Art, New York, “immedia: 1901,” MI, “Free Biennial,” New York and Art Basel Miami Beach 2003, at which his work received a half page photo and citation in the New York Times. Recent work results from collaborations with New Media theorist Gregory Ulmer in testing the potential of electronic documentary, webcam imaging and other internet practices to consult situational conditions. These collaborativeworks have been the subject of articles in Visual Culture, ArtUS and will form a chapter of Gregory Ulmer’s 2005 book, “Electronic Monumentality.”
The use of webcams in new media has been the subject of a series of his presentations at venues such as the College Art Association and Center forCommunications and Information Technologies, University of Toronto. “Breathe On Me,” a new work creating a multi-webcam network installationenvironment was presented at the, “Interactive Futures05: Technology in the Life World,” in British Columbia and featured on the April1st “The New New Media” episode of Canadian Broadcasting’s ZeD TV. “X INDUSTRIA” 05 hosted by the Contemporary Art Forum Kitchener, Ontario, Canada will exhibit his new network controlled domestic environment entitled “Here For You.”

Bio:
Jillian Mcdonald is a Canadian new media and performance artist, transplanted in New York. Her work has been shown recently at The Whitney Museum's Artport; Soil New Media in Regina, Canada; 404 International Festival of Electronic Art in Argentina; BananaRAM in Italy; The Sundance Online Film Festival; solo shows at TPW and YYZ galleries in Toronto; a solo show at Video Pool in Winnipeg; vertexList gallery in Brooklyn; La Biennale de Montréal; ISEA (International Symposium on Electronic Art) 2004 in Estonia; Le Manifestation d'Art Internationale in Quebec; The New Forms Festival in Vancouver; and the Centre d’Art Contemporain de Basse-Normandie. In 2004 she received grants from The Canada Council for the Arts, Pace University, and The New York State Council on the Arts. She also received commissions from Soil New Media and Turbulence for new web-based artworks. Mcdonald's body of performance work in public spaces titled "In the Public Eye" has included public interventions in various North American cities such as New York, Cleveland, Montréal, Toronto, Winnipeg, and Ottawa. Upcoming: "Ivy League" in a Toronto parkette and "I Love You" in New York clothing stores. Mcdonald has participated in numerous residencies and has lectured about her work in North America and Europe. Critical writing about her work has appeared in Flash Art, The New York Times, The Toronto Star, The Village Voice, and BlackFlash Magazine.
Mcdonald has curated exhibitions at Rhizome.org and vertexList Gallery in Brooklyn. She is co-director and co-founder of The Pace Digital Gallery.
Linda Herritt, art department chairperson
Bio:
Linda Herritt's work combines aspects of landscape painting with topographic maps and scientific diagrams. Her installations present nature reconstituted from information and reanimated via consumer electronics. Special effects equipment, motors and electronic devices simulate changes in weather and other natural phenomena. As a sort of conceptualism in reverse, information morphs into experience and spectacle, linking nature to escape, danger, and the sublime. In a similar vein, her recent drawings combine media images of natural disasters with computer-generated topography and excerpts from Chinese landscape paintings, collapsing representations of the natural world with radically different purposes into unified hybrid images. Linda Herritt studied art and art history at Ohio State University (BFA) and the University of Montana (MFA). She has taught studio art at the University of Colorado, Boulder, and The New School, New York. Her work has been exhibited at Pierogi, the Drawing Center, and Ace Gallery in New York, the San Francisco Art Institute, the Denver Museum of Contemporary Art, and Galeria OMR in Mexico City. Awards include a NEA Fellowship in Sculpture, a Pollock-Krasner Award, and residencies at the MacDowell Colony, Art Omi, and The Marie Walsh Sharpe Art Foundation. She joined the faculty of Pace University in Fall 2006.
Jane Dickson, painting and drawing
Bio:
Jane Dickson has exhibited her paintings, drawings and prints in museums and galleries around the world. Her images have appeared in over 100 books and periodicals. A dozen museums including MOMA, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Whitney Museum, The Brooklyn Museum, and The Chicago Art Institute own her artworks. Last year she had one-person exhibits of her work at The Fort Lauderdale Museum of Fine Art, Florida, and Scolar Fine Art Gallery, London. She has taught and lectured at many art schools and universities including Cooper Union, SVA and Temple University.
John Mulgrew, ceramics and drawing
Bio:
John Mulgrew works as a painter and potter most interested in ceramic sculpture. As a student of abstract expressionist artists, his interests are in the relationship of the material and creative process to natural phenomena. Professor Mulgrew has most recently taught courses in ceramics and figure drawing.
Jim Moninger, photography
Bio:
Professor Moninger is an artist currently specializing in the medium of photography. He was awarded an MFA degree at Hunter College in 1983. During his undergraduate work, he was selected to be a Thomas Hunter Scholar, the Hunter College Honor Society. He was awarded a BA Summa Cum Laude in 1981. Entering graduate school with a primary concentration in ceramic sculpture and found-object construction, he made a transition into his current specialization in photography, which he has practiced as a primary art medium ever since. Moninger is a full time, tenured professor at Pace University and has been teaching here since 1986.
In addition to numerous exhibitions of painting, sculpture and photography in art galleries and art institutions, he has published several portfolios of photographs in slick magazines such as Modern Photography and PHOTOgraphic Magazine. His photographic work has been published in several books, including art and college textbooks. He has done extensive research in the specialized field of imaging with alternative optics and has published numerous articles, designs, technical drawings and individual art photographs in the leading publication in the field: Pinhole Journal. He has won several prizes in photography competitions, and grants for sculpture and photography. Recently, he was interviewed by the German magazine MFM Fototechnik, where his comments and photographs were published.
In the past two years, his work was selected in competitive exhibitions jurored by museum curators from the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Corcoran Gallery in Washington, D.C., the Brooklyn Museum of Art, and the Guggenheim Museum. Most recent exhibitions were held at the Viridian Gallery, Pleiades Gallery, Ceres Gallery, and Amos Eno Gallery, all in New York City. His most recent publication was a major article written for a journal of experimental photography in August of 2002, titled "Pinhole Videography and the Digital Still."
