The Bachelors of Fine Arts degree at Pace gives students the opportunity toexplore a variety of concentrations of fine art. Students can choose to focus in photography, digital arts, interior design, or traditional mediums like painting, drawing and sculpture. The department enables students to tailor a course of study that meets their unique goals. A fine arts degree from Pace can lead to a range of career opportunities including advertising, graphic design, animation, photography, teaching and arts administration.
The program begins with foundation courses that consist of the basics: drawing, two-dimensional design, painting, computer design. Students are then able to develop advanced visual problem solving skills and design concepts. Student art galleries in both Westchester and New York City give majorsthe opportunity to display their work and network with others. Those interested may also participate in the student run art and art history club that organizes frequent trips to major art exhibitions in New York City.
Students
have the opportunity to take advantage of our interniship program to gain
professional experience and academic credit. Students can work in museums,
print or web studios, interior design studios, photography studios, and other
design companies. In the past we've secured students positions at
MTV Network, Artista Records,and US News and World Report.
